The Alliance for Gambling Reform (The Alliance) values and respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information, and how we maintain the quality and security of your personal information.

In general terms, this includes information or an opinion that personally identifies you either directly (e.g. your name) or indirectly.

The personal information we collect about you depends on the nature of your dealings with us and what you choose to share with us. The personal information we collect about you may include:

You do not have to provide us with your personal information. You have the option to interact with us anonymously or by using a pseudonym if you prefer.
Why do we collect this information?
We collect personal information to allow us to send you opportunities to participate with our organisation and to provide you with information about our work.
We may use your personal information for the purposes of our internal administration, research, planning, marketing, campaigns and project development. We may share non-personal, non-sensitive and de-identified information with research organisations.
We will not rent or sell your information. Other than as required by law, we will not provide your personal information to anyone else without your consent.

The Alliance will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure, including by:

Personal information is held only for as long as the personal information remains relevant to the purpose for which it was collected.
Accessing and correcting information
If you believe personal information we hold about you is inaccurate, you may ask us to correct it.
You can access your information by asking us. Occasionally, we may need to refuse your request to access information, for example, where granting you access would infringe someone else’s privacy.
When you request access, we will ask you to provide some form of identification so that we can ensure that you are the person to whom the information relates.
