MADDY THORPE

Voices Coordinator and Social Media

Maddy brings a unique blend of professional expertise to her role in health and social advocacy. Through her career in Osteopathy and her own journey through cancer recovery, she developed a deep understanding of how personal stories can drive systematic change.

At the Alliance for Gambling Reform, Maddy coordinates the 'Voices for Gambling Reform' program, amplifying lived experience perspectives to create meaningful policy change. She also manages the Alliance's social media, and Voices engagement with the media.

Her background in health advocacy, including her past work with Pain Revolution and Painaustralia, enriches her approach to supporting people impacted by gambling harm. Maddy has also worked in research and education at the University of South Australia and RMIT University. Her talent for combining storytelling with evidence-based advocacy has made her a valuable voice in Australia's public health and social reform landscape.
